For the last 30 years I have worked in the health, fitness and wellbeing environment in a variety of roles, from gym instructor, group exercise teacher, trainer, assessor and quality assurer. More recently I had a full-time career developing health and fitness qualifications. In September 2017 I made the decision to become a freelance consultant to enable me to follow a dream of setting up press pause to share yoga and mindfulness to families, children, young people and adults. On 5th November 2017 press pause was launched.
I have been teaching yoga to adults for the last 10 years and my classes are inclusive for all abilities.
I believe that yoga is not about fancy poses which would be inaccessible or inappropriate for most people’s needs but about experiencing 'your own yoga'. Yoga is not solely about shaping the outside of our bodies but how it shapes the inner you. This is where yoga and mindfulness link so well together.
My classes come from the heart so that you can be guided joyfully to enable physical and mental relaxation.
Since my son has been at school I have realised the pressures and stress that children are under. I strongly feel that the use of mindfulness and yoga can help children to deal with whatever life throws at them.
Yoga and mindfulness can have a profound effect on all that practise it. Learning the simple practices of mindfulness, breath work, meditation and yoga can arm us all with strategies to care for our wellbeing.
